About Donna Kirschner, PhD.

I have coached hundreds of students in their writing.  I love to guide students through the process of discovering their stories to create compelling, effective admission essays.  I founded YourAdmissionEssay in 2004, to help students create an in-depth and vivid picture of who they are and what they might contribute.  We enthusiastically draw on my talents as a cultural anthropologist and writing coach to guide students as they craft a compelling tale about themselves and perfect how they tell that story..

I earned my doctorate in cultural anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008.  While at Penn, I coached students from across the University in the writing center and as a Fellow and Senior Fellow in the Writing Across the Curriculum program (1996-2002).  In 2002-2003, I trained and supervised instructors in Penn’s prestigious Nicholas Chimicles Writing Fellowship program.  I have taught, mentored and supervised graduate students in the design and teaching of writing-based seminars for first-year Penn undergraduates.

My students have enjoyed admission to a wide array of colleges and graduate programs.  I look forward to guiding your child as they craft an outstanding admissions essay!
